Jesse Saunders Bio

Currently

I run a successful Thai Massage practice, helping people let go further through Therapeutic Flying Sessions from my therapy room in East Finchley. For those interested, these flying sessions can move safely & progressively into a more active acrobatic focus, building strength, bodyawareness & confidence.

I teach regular AcroYoga Classes & Workshops.

I am Manager of Teach Yoga Ltd a Yoga Teacher Training organisation, as well as a tutor on the Yoga Alliance RYT200 & British Wheel of Yoga courses.

I teach Table Thai Massage courses forInspire Massage and was their primary consultant in the development of this CPD approved course!

I also do the occasional AcroYoga, or Acrobatic Balancing performance with my teaching partner and colleague Jaqui Wan.

And I am in the process of strengthening my own meditation practice and building community space for people with common interest.

The trodden path

The privilege of a Steiner education at a young age, instilled a strong sense of self & a curiosity and acceptance of others.

An active interest in bodies and movement was inspired, learning simple circus skills from the age of 5, and developing this fascination through trampoline, cycling, swimming, dance, acrobatics, gymnastics and football as life and opportunities presented themselves.

In 2000, movement took on a more meditative focus through a regular Astanga Yoga practice. This has been complimented with study of Hatha yoga, AcroYoga and also some Vipassana.

Qualifying professionally in Thai Massage at The School of Thai Yoga Massage and Holistic Massage at the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork towards the end of 2003 was enough to scratch the surface of this vast subject of bodywork, & created a desire to know more.

Whisked into a whirlwind & eye-opening world of travel, lessons of life together with certification in Advanced Thai Massage, Thai Reflexology and Chavutti Thirumal were attained in New Zealand and South East Asia.

Towards the end of 6 months in Thailand, assisting Asokananda teach his courses in the Lahoo village, about 80km north of Chiang Mai; and at his request teaching a few courses at the Sunshine Massage School, saw a learning curve rocket skywards. However, the icing on the cake was the month spent studying with Ajarn Pichest Boonthumme, one of Asokananda's Thai masters.
